4/14/2023 0 Comments Steyr m95 manufacture date![]() It probably served with the Austrian police or military until the outbreak of World War 2. The conversion was marked on the rifle by a large "S" stamped on the barrel ahead of the receiver. After WW1 ended it remained in Austrian hands and was converted from 8x50mmR to the more powerful 8x56mmR "S" cartridge. The Austrian military acceptance stamp is on top of the barrel just ahead of the receiver (while the stamp is somewhat obscured by the overstamp "S", it is still legible). This Steyr Model 1895 Stright-Pull Military rifle was manufactured in 1915 and went into Austrian Military service during World War 1. We rarely see all-matching and original M95s, with examples not import marked even more scarce. It most likely came to this country during or after World War 2 as a "war trophy" with a U.S. This Steyr Model 1895 rifle is all-original, all-matching, and is NOT import marked. ![]() WW1 Steyr Model 1895 Straight-Pull Military Rifle in 8x56mmR Caliber** ALL-MATCHING NON-IMPORT!! ** SOLD
